Luis Suarez insists Paul Pogba would be welcome at Barcelona as the midfielder continues to be linked with an exit from Old Trafford.

The 25-year-old’s relationship with manager Jose Mourinho is believed to be fractious, with the Frenchman open to a move away from a Red Devils side struggling for form early in the season.

The La Liga champions added Gremio midfielder Arthur, Bordeaux winger Malcom, Sevilla centre-back Clement Lenglet and Bayern Munich’s Arturo Vidal during the summer, but Suarez feels Pogba would be a good fit should he make the switch to Spain in the future.

“Pogba is an elite player who has won everything and we always want to have the best,” Suarez told RAC1 on Tuesday.

“He is a player that has a lot of quality and who is one of the key players at United, and I think he would like to compete for more than he is competing for now.

“But that’s how it is, he does not belong to Barcelona but he will always be welcome.”
