Carlo Ancelotti has declared Real Madrid will not sign any players in January as he is happy with the strength of his squad.

Although Los Blancos on Friday completed the signing of Mallorca’s 18-year-old winger Marcos Asensio on a six-year contract, with the teenager loaned back to the Balearic isle club for the remainder of the season, Ancelotti claims no further player movements will take place.

The future of striker Chicharito Hernandez has been the particular subject of speculation, with reports that his loan from Manchester United could be cut short.

But Ancelotti said Hernandez, who scored in the 5-0 Copa del Rey win over Cornella on Tuesday, will start in the Champions League against Ludogorets on Tuesday and is not going anywhere.

“He knows his position in this team,” said the Italian coach. “We have forwards who are doing very well, but he did well in the cup and will play against Ludogorets.

“We’re not going to sign anyone and nobody is going to leave in January. The squad is fine as it is.”

Ancelotti will be without in-form midfielder Isco for tonight’s La Liga meeting with Celta Vigo, following the Spain international’s dismissal in the dying stages of last weekend’s win over Malaga and the rejection of the club’s subsequent appeal.

With Luka Modric injured and Sami Khedira missing out after suffering concussion during the midweek win over Cornella, Isco’s absence will give Asier Illarramendi a chance to make only his second league start of the season. “Illarra will replace Isco and the rest will be the same,” said Ancelotti. “I have a lot of confidence in Illarra.”

Cristiano Ronaldo will look to add to his 20 goals for the season against one of his favourite opponents; the Portuguese has scored in each of his previous five games against Celta, registering nine goals.
