LIVERPOOL v CHELSEA
Andy Gray: I don’t think Chelsea will lose this match because Mourinho edges towards pragmatism rather than entertainment and in big games away from home he will happily take a point and head back to London.
If Chelsea score first then I think they might go on to win it but because this is at Anfield with that fantastic support and because Liverpool will want to avenge what happened last season, which effectively cost them the league, I think it’s more likely that this will end 1-1 but it will never justify throwing in the towel against Real.
Richard Keys: Chelsea are the best team in the EPL and I am sure they are going to win the league.
QPR v MANCHESTE CITY
AG: I watched City against CSKA Moscow and they looked like a team of individuals who weren’t interested in playing for each other. I expect to see a reaction from those players against a QPR side that is inferior in every way. 3-1 away win.
RK: I keep saying how unpredictable this City team is and now it’s there for everyone to see. However, QPR are so bad that I can’t see City losing this. 0-2.
MANCHESTER UNITED v CRYSTAL PALACE
AG: United are in iffy form at the moment. They are not scoring a lot of goals despite their obvious talent up front but they are still a better side than Palace which is why I see this ending 2-0 to United.
RK: One point from 12 is not good enough for Palace and the impressive start by Neil Warnock is beginning to fall apart. They’re not good enough to beat United. 2-0.
SWANSEA v ARSENAL
AG: Arsenal will be determined to deliver after what happened on Wednesday against Anderlecht but they need to have respect for Swansea, particularly at home. This is a tough game for Arsenal and I think they may have to settle for a draw. 2-2.
RK: Arsenal owe their supporters a performance and although Swansea have looked good over the past couple of weeks the Gunners will be too strong. 2-1 away win.
Southampton v Leicester
AG: Everybody is waiting for Southampton’s run to come to an end but I can’t see Leicester troubling them. The Saints have some really tough games coming up in the next few weeks but this should be comfortable for them. 2-0.
RK: Southampton continue to impress and I would like to mention Sammy Lee’s coaching role in this. He has been terrific working alongside Ronald Koeman and unless Saints run out of steam they will win yet again. 2-0.
WEST HAM v ASTON VILLA
AG: West Ham are another side who are flying and I keep waiting for them to hit the wall but Villa have lost six in a row and I don’t see any respite for them here. 3-1 home win.
RK: Villa are in terrible trouble and there’s no way that they are going to beat a buoyant West Ham at home. 2-0 to the Hammers.
SUNDERLAND v EVERTON
AG: Everton’s league form is average and Sunderland are one of these teams who can occasionally show some spirit, like they did against Crystal Palace last week so I can see a share of the points. 2-2.
RK: I was surprised by Sunderland’s performance last week so I expect to see them follow up that terrific result in front of a home crowd which should be jumping. 1-0 home win.
TOTTENHAM v STOKE
AG: Spurs won at Villa last week but I’m not sure how because they were pretty ordinary. Stoke are unpredictable and because of that inconsistency I think Tottenham will win this 2-1.
RK: Mauricio Pochettino must start Harry Kane who is on fire at the moment and he will give Spurs an added edge. Stoke aren’t great but they have a habit of grinding out result so I’ll say 1-1.
WEST BROM v NEWCASTLE
AG: West Brom are difficult to beat at home and I think Newcastle will struggle to keep their current run of impressive results going. 2-1 home win.
RK: Newcastle have found a bit of belief but West Brom are no mugs so I’ll go for another draw 1-1.
BURNLEY v HULL
AG: If Burnley are ever going to win a game in the Premier League it is going to have to be against someone like Hull. I am not
entirely convinced but I’m going to say a 1-0 home win.
RK: At some point something has to go right for Burnley and Hull look a bit ordinary. 2-2.
