Barcelona forward Lionel Messi was at his consistent best again this year beating a prolific Mohamed Salah at his goalscoring best, to top the European Golden Shoe race.

With 34 goals in 35 games, the Argentine genius was the driving force in Barca’s brilliant La Liga campaign, but the Egyptian wasn’t far behind with 32 goals in 36 appearances.

But there were a few other known names in the top five list as well.
