Manchester United have triggered a one-year contract extension clause to retain the services of Ashley Young until the end of next season.

The 32-year-old’s deal was due to expire this summer but United have confirmed they have taken up the option of an extra 12 months.

Winger turned full-back Young has been in fine form this season and is back in the England picture ahead of the World Cup.
