Angel Di Maria is set to replace Neymar for the Champions League return fixture against Real Madrid next week, according to L’Equipe.

The French publication believes PSG boss Unai Emery will turn to the Argentine to replace Neymar – after the Brazilian suffered a fractured metatarsal and sprained ankle during the 3-0 victory over Marseille on Sunday.

Di Maria has been PSG’s best player this season and has scored 14 goals and provided 15 assists in 30 matches, a stunning return considering he is not a guaranteed starter.

With Neymar flanked by Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani, the former Man United midfielder has mostly seen action from the bench this term.

The 29-year-old scored a hat-trick against Sochaux in the French Cup three weeks ago, and was omitted for the side to play Real Madrid in the first leg one week later.

Di Maria won a Champions League for Los Blancos in 2014, turning in a man-of-the-match display against Atletico Madrid in the final.

PSG are still in the tie against Zinedine Zidane’s side, and a 2-0 victory at Parc des Princes will be enough to qualify for the last eight.
