How much do Premier League referee’s get paid?

Many people think that being a football referee must be one of the worst jobs in the world. You constantly get scrutinised for 90 minutes after every decision you make- or don't make…

Believe it or not, the majortiy believe they can do a better job than the man with the whistle. Well you should get qualified if you do as here are the referee's average salaries for 2013/2014.

Premier League Referee’s Salaries:

Basic Annual Salary – £38,500

Match Fees – £1,150
Average annual income – £70,000 to £85,000 (basic salary + Match fees)

So on average a ref gets £70,000 a year but with Wayne Rooney on £300,000 a-week at Manchester United, it seems ridiculously low in comparison.

Meanwhile the whole experience of being deeply involved in the action with some of the world's greatest athletes is something money can't buy.

So which referee gets the highest salary? Howard Webb tops the charts for the highest average yearly salary on £120,000.

Webb has unfortunately just retired from refereeing after being the only British man to ref in the Brazil World Cup this summer.
