Jack Rodwell has set his sights on securing an England place after completing his move to Sunderland.

The 23-year-old midfielder has moved from Manchester City on a five-year deal rising to a potential £10m (Dh62m), in a bid to resurrect his career after it stalled at the Etihad.

Rodwell said: “Watching the World Cup left a little bit of a bitter taste in my mouth. I was supporting the team 100 per cent but I also wanted to be there, so I think its’s time I put that right, get back playing and get back in the squad.”

Here are Rodwell's highlights from a bright start to his career at Everton.
