The Ivory Coast defender was handed a straight red card towards the end of the semi-final second leg against Celta Vigo – a match back-up goalkeeper Sergio Romero started, just as he will in Stockholm after Jose Mourinho confirmed he would play instead of David De Gea.
A serious knee injury prevents Zlatan Ibrahimovic playing in his home country, while Marcos Rojo, Ashley Young and Luke Shaw are long-term absentees. Marouane Fellaini (hamstring) and Chris Smalling (toe) trained on the eve of the match after sitting out the Premier League finale against Crystal Palace.
