You would think that with a World Cup right around the corner, footballers around the world would be focused on the sport’s biggest prize.

That’s not the case if you’re Gerard Pique. The Barcelona defender was attending a press conference alongside Spain boss Vicente Del Bosque and managed to let slip that Cesc Fabregas is leaving the Catalan giants.

"[Cesc Fabregas] told me [the deal] is done. He's already leaving, he told me that it is €33million,” Pique whispered in the ear of Del Bosque.

Perhaps someone should have informed him that whispering doesn’t really work when you have a microphone right in front of you.

The frontrunners are believed to be Chelsea, with Fernando Torres even going so far as to tell Movistar that the midfielder is exactly what the club need.

Sport360 view: It seems Fabregas’ dream return to Barca has turned into somewhat of a nightmare and he seems set to leave. Chelsea certainly have the funds and he may not want to risk another unsuccessful return to a former club.

Thomas Muller to Manchester United

The Bayern Munich forward told German newspaper BILD: "I have come to a point where I want to know if I am an important part of the future starting line-up in Bavaria.

"And [I need to know] if the club really has plans for me in the coming years. That is why I have asked for a conversation."

That one quote has led to numerous reports that Louis van Gaal will make Muller his first signing and what a deal it would be.

The 24-year-old has won just about everything with Bayern and is a key figure for Germany.

Sport360 view: After David Moyes’ failure in the market, Van Gaal will want to make a major statement. Muller would be perfect but persuading him to leave Champions League football behind will be virtually impossible.

Lazar Markovic & Alberto Moreno to Liverpool

It seems Southampton may be able to breathe easy as Liverpool have reportedly switched their attention away from Adam Lallana and will instead chase Lazar Markovic.

Now it will be Benfica tasked with the convincing their own hugely talented midfielder against making the move to Merseyside.

But it is not only the Serbian winger the Reds are chasing, they are also keen to bring Spanish left-back Alberto Moreno to Anfield.

The defender is currently on holiday with Liverpool midfielder Luis Alberto so Brendan Rodgers will be hoping he can use his powers of persuasion.

Sport360 view: Money talks and should Benfica receive an offer of €35m for Markovic and Sevilla an amount in excess of €20m then Liverpool may well have two more hugely talented players on their books.

Romelu Lukaku to Atletico Madrid

Diego Simeone loves to profit from Chelsea and it seems he may try his luck again this summer.

Blues ‘keeper Thibaut Courtois has been a revelation at Atletico in the last three years and now it seems the Spanish club feel they can agree a deal for Romelu Lukaku.

With Diego Costa set to move to Stamford Bridge, Atleti need a striker to fill his red hoot boots.

Sport360 view: Jose Mourinho will have the final say on this one, but it’s clear every player has his price at Chelsea. Juan Mata and David Luiz have been let go and Lukaku could well follow.
