Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo believes that the prospect of the club winning the quadruple this season is a possibility.

Speaking ahead of Wednesday’s encounter with Tottenham, the Spaniard admitted that City were eyeing all four trophies.

"The quadruple is possible simply because we're still involved in all four competitions," said Negredo.

City’s continued involvement in all four competitions is largely down to their impressive goal-scoring exploits, with their tally currently at 107.

Negredo himself has weighed in with 23 of those goals, justifying the club’s £16million purchase of the striker from Sevilla in the summer.

The 28-year-old confessed that even the players were amazed with their goal-scoring statistics, but that there was more to come from City this season.

"To be totally honest, it would be tough to imagine both myself and the team would be scoring quite as many goals as we have.

"But I think there is more to come. As an individual and a team, we're not going to settle for what we've achieved so far.”

The Abu Dhabi owned club’s conquest for the quadruple is currently on the right path, with City already through to the Capital One Cup final against Sunderland.

In the FA Cup Manuel Pellegrini’s side will meet Chelsea in the fifth-round, while Barcelona lie in wait in the Champions League last-16.

These two difficult cup ties make the quadruple a challenging proposition for City, especially given the fact that this is Pellegrini’s first season in charge.

Man City take on Tottenham on Wednesday as they continue in their quest to regain the Premier League title, with Negredo back in the squad following a shoulder injury.
