Euro 2016 Player of the Day: Alessandro Florenzi (Italy)

Italians are well renowned for their passion for defending. Just how much was perfectly illustrated by Florenzi Saturday night.

Yes, it was going wide but really, who cares?

Thomas Muller cut inside and his thumped drive had beaten Gianluigi Buffon, and to the naked eye, Florenzi.

That was until the full-back acrobatically altered his body position in mid-air to fling his trailing foot and send the effort out for a corner.

It was simply sensational and well worth a watch, or ten. Set aside from that though, he put in an almighty shift for Italy.
