Euro 2016 Talking Point: Is Zlatan Ibrahimovic unable to influence big games anymore?

The Super Swede, who is widely expected to join Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United this summer, has struggled to exert much of a foothold in either of their two defeats and the 34-year-old has largely bared the brunt of fan criticism on social media as Sweden head close to a premature exit.

Is Zlatan unable to affect games in the way he used to? Or, to put it another way, is Ibrahimovic finding it difficult to influence international matches in the way he did at club level for Paris Saint-Germain, in a league generally seen as weaker in comparison to the Premier League, La Liga and Bundesliga?

The argument against any Zlatan criticism would acknowledge that it is inevitable his powers are beginning to fade given his age and the fact Sweden aren’t the force of old, but if you talk the talk, you should be able to walk the walk. And he clearly hasn’t done this so far.

Would the fast-paced nature of the Premier League suit him also?
