Chelsea captain John Terry has today shared an emotional tribute to sacked manager Jose Mourinho on his Instagram account.

The former England skipper, 36, has always been close to Mourinho across the Portuguese’s two spells at Stamford Bridge, winning three Premier League titles, an FA Cup and three League Cup trophies under his guise.

Terry follows Cesc Fabregas in paying tribute to Mourinho on social media and the English centre-back called Mourinho’s exit “a sad day”.

Mourinho was sacked after Chelsea fell to nine defeats in 16 Premier League games, with the Blues just a point above the relegation zone.

Terry’s future at the club remains unclear with his contract expiring at the end of the current season.
