It’s been two weeks since the last Fantasy Premier League Gameweek and we’ve had some fresh signings enter the game in the meanwhile.
There’s always an element of uncertainty around late transfers so if you are picking up one of them straight away, proceed with caution.
Here are some of the new arrivals to keep an eye on…
EDINSON CAVANI | MANCHESTER UNITED | 8.0M
There are several question marks over Edinson Cavani who barely played last season at Paris Saint-Germain. Despite having his final campaign in the French capital ravaged by injury, he still managed four goals and an assist during his limited playing time in Ligue 1.
PSG’s all-time leading scorer might be rusty and is unavailable for GW5 due to COVID-19 regulations but his goal-scoring record speaks for itself and makes him an enticing option moving forward.

RHIAN BREWSTER | SHEFFIELD UNITED | 4.5M
Rhian Brewster proved his pedigree with Swansea City in the Championship last season, scoring 11 times. The Liverpool loanee averaged 168.33 minutes per goal and gives Sheffield United much-needed firepower up front.
From an FPL perspective, he is great value at just 4.5m and should enable you to add that extra premium option to boost your midfield where several big-hitters reside.
RAPHINHA | LEEDS UNITED | 5.5M
At this point, any Leeds United attacker needs to be considered given their fearless, devil-may-care approach to games. Raphinha’s five goals and three assists for Rennes last season point to his FPL value.
The versatile Brazilian winger may take some time to be integrated though with Marcelo Bielsa already in possession of several attacking options to choose from. He’s one to keep an eye on for upcoming GWs.
ALEX TELLES | MANCHESTER UNITED | 5.5M
United defenders aren’t popular right now and for good reason after conceding six at home to Tottenham in GW4. However, Alex Telles should be on your radar for pure attacking potential.
The Brazilian left-back bagged 11 goals and eight assists for FC Porto last season and given the struggles of Luke Shaw in the position of late, he’s likely to be a starter straight away.
THEO WALCOTT | SOUTHAMPTON | 5.8M
Theo Walcott is now 31 and quickly approaching the has-been category but Ralph Hasenhuttl isn’t a manager to base a signing just on nostalgia. That said, a return of just two goals and three assists for Everton in the league last term is underwhelming.
The English winger has a lot to prove but his pace, experience and eye for goal could make an impact in the Saints’ system that thrives on attacks through quick breakaways during transitions.
