Tottenham star Christian Eriksen joins exclusive list after assist against Liverpool

When Lucas Moura rounded off a brilliant team move on Sunday by scoring an equaliser against Liverpool at Anfield, he made Premier League history.

Not for himself, but his team-mate, Christian Eriksen, who supplied the final ball for the Tottenham forward to score and in doing so picked up his 10th league assist of the season.

That made the Dane the first player since Manchester United legend David Beckham to provide at least 10 assists in four- straight seasons in the Premier League, showing just how valuable a player he’s become since joining Spurs in 2013.

Eriksen has blossomed into one of the best creative forces in England, and it’s no wonder the likes of Real Madrid are trying to prise him away from north London as he enters the last season of his contract.

He’s just outside the top 20 in the Premier League’s all-time assists chart, with his tally of 58 one behind England duo Stuart Downing and Steve McManaman.

With three other Englishmen tied at 15th with 64 assists, getting into the top 15 this season would be a tall ask, with just seven games left, though if he does stay at Spurs for one more season he’ll no doubt reach that milestone. And he’d likely also break Beckham’s record.
