Arsenal manager Unai Emery was delighted by the contribution of substitute Aaron Ramsey in the 4-2 north London derby win over Tottenham.
The game at Emirates Stadium was overshadowed by a number of unsavoury incidents, most notably the banana skin thrown in the direction of Gunners striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as he celebrated his sideās opening goal.
Both clubs were also charged on Monday afternoon by the FA with failing to control their players.
But there were plenty of positives too for Arsenal, with Ramseyās performance a particular highlight.
As it stands, the Welshman is set to leave the club, with his contract due to expire at the end of the season. But Emery hailed the Welshman for his contribution in Arsenalās fightback.
āI want his focus only on the team, and on giving us his performances,ā the Spaniard said.
āIn the last matches his focus is there. We were speaking between us the coaches and I look at him in every match. His focus is positive for us and it helps us. He needs to think about his future, for his family and for him, but if he plays like yesterday, itās the best for him and the best for us.ā
Asked if Ramsey could stay at the Emirates beyond next summer, Emery replied: āThis conversation is not for today for us or for me. Itās one situation that was closed one or two months ago.
āAt the moment the most important thing is heās smiling, he has the commitment, the behaviour and the performances like yesterday ā thatās the best for him and for us.ā
Arsenal will travel to Manchester United on Wednesday night bidding for their first Premier League win at Old Trafford in more than a decade. Mesut Ozil was absent from Arsenalās victory against Spurs with a back injury and Emery hinted that the German playmaker is also likely to miss the match against Jose Mourinhoās side.
Emery added: āToday he was working alone. Heās had backache since last Tuesday. He couldnāt play in Kiev in the Europa League or yesterday and, at the moment, I donāt know if he can play in Manchester.ā
