Petr Cech has rubbished rumours of a move away from Arsenal, with the goalkeeper saying he wants to stay at the club and fight for his place.

New Arsenal manager Unai Emery recruited Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen earlier this summer, increasing the competition to be Emery’s first choice between the goalposts.

But Cech, widely regarded as one of the Premier League‘s best-ever goalkeepers, says Leno’s arrival does not mean he is set to depart the club.

“I want to fight for my place in this team,” Cech said.
