Antonio Conte blames luck for Chelsea’s underperforming season

Antonio Conte blames luck for Chelsea‘s underwhelming defence of their Premier League title this season.

The Blues have an outside shot of finishing in the top four, which would salvage some pride at the end of a difficult season, but need to beat Newcastle away and hope Liverpool lose at home to Brighton for that to happen.

Conte, who is likely to leave at the end of the season, believes fifth place is not a fair reflection of the team’s performance, citing occasions where Chelsea “dominated the game but could not win.”

The latest such result was in midweek against Huddersfield, when they had to come from behind for a 1-1 draw against the newly promoted side.
