Pep Guardiola targeting a maximum of two additions to Man City in the summer

Pep Guardiola says he is only looking for a maximum of two signings to add to his Premier League-winning Manchester City side.

The Citizens spent over £200million last summer to build their dominant side, and Guardiola also added £60million centre-back Aymeric Laporte in January to the squad.

However, though they won the League Cup and have set Premier League records for wins, points, and goals in a season on their way to the trophy, Guardiola’s team fell short in the Champions League, losing to Liverpool in the quarterfinals, and suffered a shock fifth-round exit to Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup to put paid to hopes of an unprecedented quadruple.

Nonetheless, Guardiola is understandably happy with his squad, saying “not too much” when asked how much work was required in the transfer market to improve City further.
