Former Real Madrid defender Fernando Sanz believes Arsene Wenger‘s successor should be a Spanish coach.

The Arsenal boss has announced that he will be stepping down at the end of the season after 22 years in charge.

“Arsene Wenger is an amazing coach and his career is incredible. I don’t know what Arsenal will do for the next season,” Sanz, the Director General for La Liga in the MENA region, told Sport360 at the du La Liga Champions final last week.

“For sure, they will choose one of the best coaches but in my opinion, if they want to choose the best coach, a quality coach – one from Spain,” he added.
