Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has promised there is “more to come” after his goalscoring debut in Arsenal’s 5-1 thrashing of Everton.

The 28-year-old completed a club-record £55million deal on transfer deadline day with Olivier Giroud leaving the Emirates Stadium for rivals Chelsea for £18million.

Arsene Wenger is well stocked for options to spearhead his attack with £52million summer signing Alexandre Lacazette dropped to the bench for Saturday’s victory.

And the Frenchman watched as Aubameyang linked up with former Borussia Dortmund teammate Henrikh Mkhitaryan for a sumptuous first goal, although the Gabon international had strayed offside.

Aaron Ramsey grabbed a hat-trick in the comfortable victory but Aubameyang’s strike stole the headlines with the January buy confident he will improve on English soil.

“Of course I was really happy,” Aubameyang said via the club’s website.

“We won the game in the first half and the second was a bit different. We are all happy.

“Is there more to come from me? I think so.”

Mkhitaryan registered a trio of assists as the Armenia playmaker showed signs of filling the creative void left after his swap deal with Alexis Sanchez.

And Wenger is delighted to see his new recruits get up and running.

“The two players who came in during the transfer window look like they have always played with us with us because they have the same mobility, same ability and same technical quality,” the Frenchman said.
