Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo emerges as ‘target for Chelsea’

Cristiano Ronaldo could make a sensational return to the Premier League, with Chelsea being a likely target.

Reports in the British press suggest the Real Madrid man is unhappy in Spain and would be open to a move.

Manchester United would have been first in line for his signature, but that now looks unlikely following the arrival of Alexis Sanchez.

Chelsea have been looking to bolster their forward line, having been linked with Andy Carroll, Peter Crouch, and most recently Edin Dzeko.

The Dzeko deal now appears to be floundering, and a move for Ronaldo could been appetising for Antonio Conte who also faces the distinct possibility of losing key man Eden Hazard in the summer.
