Luke Shaw fears Man United career may be over after breakdown in relationship with Jose Mourinho

18:41 25/10/2017

Luke Shaw’s relationship with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly broken down beyond repair, to the extent that the left-back fears his career at the club could be over, according to the Guardian.

Shaw has been restricted to just two first-team appearances this season, both as a late substitute in the Carabao Cup. He suffered an ankle injury last season and has largely been playing with United’s U23 team in order to gain match fitness.

Mourinho is said to be unhappy with Shaw’s attitude, although the player is unsure of what more he can do to prove himself. The impasse between the two has left Shaw reportedly feeling that he may not get meaningful first-team action again.

Shaw has been attempting to force his way back into Mourinho’s plans ever since he regained full fitness, but the manager remains unconvinced that Shaw has done enough to merit a return to the starting XI.

The Englishman is now said to be considering moves away from the club, although he’s unlikely to look for a permanent move in January.
