Fantasy Football Tips: Captain Alexis Sanchez and three top picks (GW36)

Each week, Sport360 will bring you tips for the English Premier League’s official fantasy football game. Fancy pitting your wits against us? You can join “Sport360 Fans'” league using the code 118790-38575.

Another round and another Double Gameweek to contend with, this time with Arsenal and Southampton players looking to score big.

This week’s column tells you why you should captain Alexis Sanchez and picks out three others who could serve you well.

But first, here’s a look at the tactical geniuses who make up the top five in our fans league this week.

WHO TO PICK AS CAPTAIN

Harry Kane [11.6m] was our captain pick in Gameweek 35 and he stepped up to the spot and delivered with a penalty in the North London derby.

However, it could’ve been better had he not picked up a yellow card and instead registered a bonus point or two.

This week, we’re backing Alexis Sanchez [11.5m] as he gears up for a Double Gameweek.

The Chilean has endured a dip in form since being pushed wide to accommodate Olivier Giroud as the main striker but still poses a significant threat.

He’s been quiet in recent weeks, scoring just once in his last six outings but this could be the round in which he fires his doubters a timely reminder of his quality. Arsenal entertain a tired and what could well be a depleted United side at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday following their Europa League excursions.

They then face Southampton away and it’s hard to think that Sanchez wouldn’t provide returns in at least one of those fixtures if not both, especially with Arsenal having to win all of their remaining fixtures to have any hope of Champions League football next season.

THREE TOP PICKS

The Double Gameweek should have you favour Arsenal and Southampton players but there’s no need to flood your team with them as their fixtures aren’t overly attractive.

Sanchez, Petr Cech, Laurent Koscielny, Maya Yoshida and Ryan Bertrand are all good options but you shouldn’t lose sight of players who only have one fixture this week but could still score big.

GABRIEL JESUS – MANCHESTER CITY (8.8M)

Incredibly, the Brazilian has picked up right where he left off. In his two full matches before injury, he picked up a massive 24 points and his first start since then, just last week, saw him add another six with a goal against Middlesbrough.

With Sergio Aguero carrying an injury, Gabriel Jesus is likely to lead the line on his own but both South Americans could take to the pitch together even if the Argentine is available, as they did last week.

Playing at home against Crystal Palace should be a treat for Jesus and you’d also want him in your squad for the Double Gameweek in the next round when he faces both Leicester City and West Brom at the Etihad. A trip to Watford in the final week isn’t too shabby either.

JOSHUA KING – BOURNEMOUTH (6.2M)

Every time we think Joshua King’s purple patch has run its course, he scores another goal and then another. After blanking against Tottenham in Gameweek 33, he hit the back of the net against Middlesbrough and Sunderland to register 15 goals in the Premier League this season.

The 25-year-old faces Stoke City at home this week and while Bournemouth don’t enjoy a Double Gameweek in the next round, his final two fixtures of Burnley at home and Leicester away still look promising.

EDEN HAZARD – CHELSEA (10.5M)

The Belgian enjoys a Double Gameweek in round 37 and is likely to be the chief candidate for captain as Chelsea travel to West Brom and then entertain Watford at the Bridge. However, Hazard could well deliver this week as well as Middlesbrough make the trip to west London.

The winger has delivered returns in five of his last six outings, registering 44 points in that time. He managed a goal and scored two bonus points against Southampton in Gameweek 34 before bagging an assist at Goodison Park last week.
