The Arsenal midfielder, who is on loan at the Cherries this season and turned 25 on New Year’s Day in January, actually forgot his own age during the Sky interview.

Discussing his constant battles with injury and whether or not he still has a long-term future at the Emirates Stadium, Wilshere said: “I’ve started to realise I’m not that young any more. You know, I’m 24.”

The Twitter world was quick to pick up on the fact Wilshere is 25, not 24.

And there were plenty of people on social media who had a laugh at the Bournemouth star’s expense.
