HARRY KANE (TOTTENHAM) – 8.6

No surprises here, then. The Spurs striker absolutely demolished Stoke City with his hat-trick. All three goals came in the first half and within the space of 23 minutes.

His second goal in particular was a gem when he struck a left-footed half-volley from just outside the area and watched it nestle into the bottom corner. He’s now level in the race for the Golden Boot.

JAMIE VARDY (LEICESTER CITY) – 7.7

Jamie Vardy is having a party again. But why did his hangover from last season last this long only for him to mysteriously recover the first game following Claudio Ranieri’s sacking?

We don’t have all the answers but we can tell you that what we saw on Monday night was vintage Vardy, particularly the manner in which he scored the opener, running in behind the defence and finishing with aplomb.

His work rate was up there too while he also held up play well and scored his side’s third with a fine header.

DANNY DRINKWATER (LEICESTER CITY) – 7.6

Despite Vardy’s efforts, the most spectacular moment of the match came when Danny Drinkwater absolutely belted in a volley from distance.

His general play was good as well and his strike was the midfielder’s first goal of the season. Not a bad way to open your account.

GARETH MCAULEY (WEST BROM) – 7.6

Can we get a ‘he scores when he wants’ chant for Gareth McAuley? The defender is making a habit of hitting the back of the net with alarming frequency.

He may be 37 years old but he’s not slowing down is he? Always a threat from set-pieces, the centre-back stabbed home a loose ball from a corner kick in the 21st minute, a goal that proved to be the winner.

CRAIG DAWSON (WEST BROM) – 7.6

A slightly deflected shot from range saw Craig Dawson get on the score sheet for West Brom on Saturday. His effort brought his side level after Joshua King opened the scoring for Bournemouth.

Along with match-winner McAuley, Dawson was able to keep the hosts at bay for the rest of the game to secure all three points.
