Anthony Martial’s centre-back brother Johan Martial more prolific than the Manchester United striker this season

Anthony Martial probably got used to being the star in his family. Having signed for Manchester United last summer and achieving instant stardom, his stock in the Martial household no doubt soared as well.

However, his older brother Johan has stolen a march on the Frenchman this season, taking advantage of the United striker’s poor form.

The 25-year-old scored his second and third Ligue 2 goals this season for Troyes, thereby achieving a better minutes-per-goal ratio than his younger brother.

Johan has registered a goal every 279 minutes this season while Anthony, scoring just twice in 13 league games, has only managed to hit the back of the net once every 356 minutes.

The stat is particularly embarrassing for the United star because Johan plays as a centre-back.

Martial will be hoping to return to the heights of his debut campaign when he scored 11 times sooner rather than later.
