1. ANDY CARROLL (WEST HAM) – 8.5

Carroll has been in a rich vein of form since his latest return from injury, and he was at it again on Saturday. His brace led West Ham to a 3-1 away win over Middlesbrough, and prompted the striker to entertain thoughts of an England recall.

2. JAMES WARD-PROWSE (SOUTHAMPTON) – 8.4

Ward-Prowse is the latest in a long line of talented, young Southampton midfielders and against champions Leicester on Sunday he ran the show. The youngster opened the scoring with a smart finish before setting up Jay Rodriguez with a pinpoint free kick.

3. FERNANDO LLORENTE (SWANSEA) – 8.2

Who saw Swansea’s shock win at Anfield coming? Llorente was key as the Swans took advantage of Liverpool’s shaky defence, scoring twice to put Swansea 2-0 ahead. The striker is reportedly wanted by Chelsea, but Paul Clement will surely want to keep him to boost Swansea’s survival hopes.

4. DARREN FLETCHER (WEST BROM) – 7.6

The Scot is known as a composed passer, a tough-tackler, and an energetic midfielder. A scorer of great goals, though? Fletcher’s smooth turn and volleyed finish would have surprised many, although it was upstaged by West Brom’s second goal, a screamer from Chris Brunt.

5. GYLFI SIGURDSSON (SWANSEA) – 7.6

As in previous seasons, Sigurdsson has been one of Swansea’s best players, and he popped up with a crucial goal after Swansea’s 2-0 lead at Anfield had evaporated. His cool finish to put the Swans back in front clinched a shock result for the Premier League’s erstwhile bottom side.
