Alex Ferguson has paid tribute to Bobby Charlton after the South Stand at Old Trafford was renamed after Charlton.

“My time at United has been laced with all these great moments,” said the Manchester United legend. “But none more so than my time with Bobby, with all that he has done for me.

“Having a stand named after you is the best moment of your life and you don’t ever forget it.”
