Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has described his team’s 1-0 Premier League win over Everton as a “stolen victory”.

United had only two shots on target but Anthony Martial’s close-range finish was enough to earn the Red Devils a win.

“Anthony Martial is an exception,” the Dutchman said. “He has played every match and to do that you have to be very strong and consistent.

“What he is doing is fantastic.”
