James Rodriguez looks closer to a permanent transfer to Bayern Munich, according to German outlets BILD and Kicker.

The Bavarians plan to exercise their right to purchase the Colombian playmaker from Real Madrid, with Rodriguez’s agent Jorge Mendes expected to travel to Munich to meet the board before the end of the year to finalise the €42 million move.

BILD suggests Bayern would be open to re-selling the 27-year-old to the Bernabeu club if the right opportunity arrived.

The player will have the final say, but Kicker claims he has already made up his mind and has agreed to make his move to the Bundesliga permanent.

It seems reported talks between Real boss Julen Lopetegui and Rodriguez were not enough to sway the Colombian from holding out until the loan deal was finalised.

Rodriguez has scored two goals in his last three Bayern games.
