Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka has been ruled out of Friday night’s Bundesliga trip to Hertha Berlin.

Goretzka limped out of Tuesday’s 1-1 home draw with Augsburg and coach Niko Kovac has confirmed he will not be risked at the weekend.

Kovac told a press conference: “His ankle is still swollen and he’ll sit out of tomorrow’s game.

“We will be taking an under-23s player in his place. Otherwise, we have everyone available.”

Reigning champions Bayern sit two points clear of Borussia Dortmund at the top of the table, despite being denied victory for the first time this season by Augsburg.
