Brazil and Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar was “crazy” about a potential Barcelona return, according to president Joan Laporta.

Neymar, 29, exited Camp Nou for a world-record €222m fee in August 2017. Consistent rumours about a comeback to Catalonia have followed for the forward who 105 times in 186 run-outs after his May 2013 arrival from Santos.

When quizzed by Esport3 about whether a move had been pondered earlier this year, Laporta replied: “Yes, we tried because at the time, in some conversations, it seemed interesting.

“Neymar was crazy to come back to Barca in March. He got in touch with us, he wanted to come, yes.”
