Barcelona record signing Philippe Coutinho has reportedly informed the club of his decision to leave after just 18 months with the Catalan giants.

The Brazilian has failed to make a significant impact since joining from Liverpool in January 2018 and has endured a disappointing season which prompted Barcelona fans to turn against him.

Cadena SER has reported that the 26-year-old has told the club’s hierarchy he does not wish to continue at the Camp Nou.

In his first full season in Blaugrana colours, Coutinho had managed to score just five goals and register two assists in 34 La Liga appearances.

With the €120 million price tag providing an extra burden of expectation, Coutinho has visibly crumbled with the home support whistling his every touch in the closing stages of the league campaign.

Cadena SER claim that Barcelona are willing to take a cut and have valued the midfielder at €90 million. Paris Saint-Germain are the only club who are said to be interested in having the player on-board.
