Gerard Pique was instrumental in the reformatting of the Davis Cup and hence left his imprint in the world of tennis.

The Barcelona defender is now turning his attention to bringing in some changes in the world of football.

The Spaniard, who still has a few years of professional football left in him, is already planning for the future.

“I’m working on two projects,” the 31-year-old told L’Equipe.

“One of them is to purchase a team.

“Sadly, I can’t say any more about that.’

However, Pique failed to give clarity on his venture.

“The other project is to create a new football tournament or to use a competition that already exists.

“I can’t say more about that either, but these two projects are very nice.”
