Winger Malcom has revealed that head coach Ernesto Valverde has told him exactly what he must do to end his Barcelona misery.

Malcom, 21, has made only five appearances since July’s £36.5 million move from Bordeaux. This frustrating spell, however, looked to have changed when he scored as a substitute in this month’s Champions League draw at Inter Milan.

Speaking to the club’s website, the Brazil call-up declared he would keep striving to earn future opportunities, plus there was no problem between himself and the boss.

He said: “I’m fine with Valverde, I spoke with him and he told me what I needed to improve and to be in the group.

“Now, I want to play tough games to show that I have the quality to be in this team.”

Barca next travel to Atletico Madrid on Saturday.
