Barcelona expect the long-term future of target Adrien Rabiot to be decided in the coming weeks as Paris Saint-Germain battle to prevent him negotiating a free transfer from January 1, according to reports.

Rabiot, 23, has declined multiple attempts from the Ligue 1 champions to renew a contract that expires next June. This means he can seal a Bosman switch to a foreign club from the turn of the year, as he’ll then move inside the final six months of his deal.

SPORT have stated that Barca expect PSG to better their current three-season renewal worth approximately €9 million per annum that has already been offered. France midfielder Rabiot desires a move to Camp Nou, but his employers’ financial power might, ultimately, prove decisive.

Rabiot has netted 24 times in 219 appearances for the Parisians.
