2:30pm – Vallecano means as much to Valverde as El Clasico

Barcelona fans may still be basking in the glory of an El Clasico thumping, but Ernesto Valverde has been strictly business this week.

According to the Blaugrana boss, any win in La Liga is just as precious as the next one. Come on, Ernesto – it must have meant a little more – but he’s right in that anything less than a victory at Rayo Vallecano would take the sheen off last weekend.

Read more on Valverde’s thoughts here.

1:00pm – Ajax name their price for Barcelona target De Ligt

Ajax will require an offer of at least €60 million to part with their highly-rated centre-back Matthijs de Ligt, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The 19-year-old Dutch international has been on Barcelona’s radar for a long time, and has reportedly already informed the Catalan club of his desire to join them at the end of the current season.

11:30am – No prospect of Guardiola-Messi reunion

Is it likely Lionel Messi will ever leave Barcelona while at the peak of his powers? No. And Pep Guardiola isn’t even going to try.

Take a look at what the former Barca boss had to say when asked the question.

9:30am – Breaking down Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s superb season

Sooraj Kamath has taken some time to analyse a less-heralded member of Barca’s side – Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

He argues that both Ter Stegen and Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak are quite possibly the best keepers in the world at the moment, though for slightly different reasons.

Catch the intriguing analysis here.
