Ernesto Valverde insists Barcelona’s resounding victory over Real Madrid at the weekend has changed nothing at the Nou Camp.

Barca thrashed their great rivals 5-1 on Sunday, a result that prompted the sacking of Julen Lopetegui as Real Madrid manager.

13:45 – Alba for Spain

Jordi Alba has started this season in great form for Barcelona.

The left-back starred in the recent 5-1 El Clasico thumping of Real Madrid over the weekend as well.

Club and country team-mate Gerard Pique has therefore urged Spain coach Luis Enrique to recall the 29-year-old to the national team set-up.

“I hope Luis Enrique rectifies the situation and calls him again,” he said.
