Emerging Barcelona midfielder Arthur has committed to a dedicated diet and training programme to speed-up his acclimatisation to the stringent demands of European football, according to reports.

Arthur, 22, has made a steady impression since being signed up from Gremio in the summer. His promising early work was rewarded with a starting spot in Wednesday’s 4-2 Champions League-triumph at Tottenham Hotspur.

Mundo Deportivo have stated the new Brazil international is determined to earn a prominent role and has been working hard on his muscle toning in the gym. Plus, he has taken up a balanced diet that features more fish, salads and rice while cutting back on meat and soft drinks.

Arthur will look to add to his six Barca appearances at Valencia on Sunday.
