16:00 – De Jong set to reject Barcelona to stay at Ajax

Ajax rising star Frenkie de Jong has confirmed that he will stay at Johan Cruijff Arena despite interest from Barcelona.

The La Liga champions had been heavily linked with the exciting 21-year-old, and it was believed earlier this summer that a fee of £50 million (Dhs 234 million) would be enough to get the deal over the line.

10:40am – Barcelona duo want PSG’s Adrien Rabiot to free up Philippe Coutinho

Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez are both apparently eager for Barcelona to seal a move for Paris Saint-Germain and France star Adrien Rabiot so teammate Philippe Coutinho can play alongside them up front.

The superstar duo don’t want the erratic Ousmane Dembele lining up alongside them and reportedly would prefer the Blaugrana’s front three to be a South American triumvirate with Brazilian Coutinho replacing the Frenchman in attack.
