Barcelona fears grow that they could lose Ivan Rakitic to PSG

Barcelona are bracing themselves to receive a huge bid from Paris Saint-Germain for Ivan Rakitic, according to SPORT.

The Ligue 1 giants registered interest in both the Croatia midfielder and Spain anchorman Sergio Busquets earlier this week. But the latter has already agreed a contract extension at Camp Nou, with an official announcement to soon follow.

This leaves an opening for Rakitic. The 30-year-old has a €125 million release clause in his Barca deal.

PSG are hopeful about agreeing a deal for near €100m, plus double his wages. The only major obstacle to their advances is Rakitic’s contentment at the La Liga champions.

The transfer windows in both Spain and France close on August 31.
