Marc-André ter Stegen says it would be a honour to hold one of the vice-captaincy roles at Barcelona this season.

The No1 goalkeeper, who is preparing for his fifth season as a Barca player, has been tipped to be one of the vice-captains considering that Lionel Messi looks set to be named the new captain following the exit of Andres’ Iniesta.

“It’s something that the squad will decide, but it’s an honour that my name is being talked about for the captaincy position,” the German goalkeeper was quoted as saying by AS.

“It would be an honour to be one of the captains, of course it would. But for me it’s not the most important thing. We need more than four captains.”
