While their squad is currently on the tour of the USA, Barcelona are looking to promote their commercial brand.

Increasing revenue streams and enhancing the club’s name globally on foreign soil is a common theme for the cream of the crop of European football during pre-season – and the Catalan giants are no different.

Aside from matters on the pitch and fitness work in preparation for the new La Liga campaign, Blaugrana hierarchy have been beating the drum about their club stateside to wealthy investors and companies.

Trumpeting one of the most famous teams in world sport is perhaps the easy part, but Barcelona are looking for a €300 million investment which would secure naming rights for the iconic Camp Nou.

By 2022-23, the club’s home ground revamp, entitled ‘Espai Barca’, will be finished and the Catalonia side are now looking for €100m more than first outlined from a future client to have their name linked with the stadium.

An agreement in place with the local council, according to Marca, has enabled Barcelona to stretch this amount, which previously stood at €200m.
