Barcelona have confirmed Lucas Digne has been given permission to leave the pre-season tour in the US and travel back to finalise his move to Everton.

The Frenchman is set to complete a £22 million switch to Goodison Park.

Digne is seeking more regular football after missing out on France’s World Cup squad due to fewer number of starts at the Camp Nou.

The left-back is being seen as a successor to Leighton Baines at Everton.

The Toffees, under Marco Silva, could seal the deal within the next couple of days.
