Dani Parejo is the latest name to emerge as a midfield target for Barcelona, with Marca linking the club with a move for the Valencia man.

However, according to the report Parejo is a “remote option” at the moment with Barcelona still pursuing other targets.

The 29-year-old is coming off a productive season, where he starred for Los Che as the club secured a long-awaited Champions League return by finishing in fourth place in La Liga.

Parejo has a €50million release clause in his contract, but Barcelona may offer Andre Gomes in exchange in order to reduce the transfer fee.

Gomes joined La Blaugrana from Valencia in 2016, but has struggled at his new club and may prefer a return to familiar shores.
