The one-off Spanish Super Cup final between Barcelona and Sevilla will be played in Tangier, Morocco, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has confirmed.

The encounter between the two sides is scheduled to take place on August 12 at the Stade Ibn Battout, which has a capacity of 45,000.

The clash will be Ernesto Valverde side’s first official game in the new season, against the same team they beat in the Copa del Rey final last term.

Meanwhile, Sevilla, were unhappy that the final would not be a two-legged encounter, as it traditionally has been in the past.

They also released a statement “to publicly express its absolute disagreement with the decision made” while calling the scenario “unjust”.
