Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has revealed that he isn’t backing Spain to win the 2018 World Cup in Russia this time.

He is instead backing Barca superstar Lionel Messi‘s Argentina to go all the way.

“I hope that Lionel Messi can win it,” Bartomeu told Antena 3.

“I hope that Leo Messi, the best player in history, can win it and make his dream come true.”

Jorge Sampaoli’s squad are currently training at Barcelona’s Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper training ground and will face Israel in their final warm-up game ahead of the World Cup.

They have been drawn in Group D alongside Iceland, Croatia and Nigeria.
