Philippe Coutinho is the latest high-profile Brazilian to play for Barcelona, following in the footsteps of Rivaldo, Ronaldo, and, in more recent times, Neymar and Ronaldinho.

It’s the latter who became an iconic player for the club, dazzling the Camp Nou crowd for five seasons and becoming indelibly linked with the Barcelona shirt.

Coutinho, who made his club debut on Thursday after signing from Liverpool earlier this month, calls Ronaldinho one of his childhood heroes, and now it’s time for the new Barcelona signing to follow in the footsteps of his idol.

He’ll do so with a word of advice from the recently-retired Ronaldinho ringing in his ears: make people happy.

The Barcelona legend did just that, and now it’s Coutinho’s turn.
